25 Years Experience - Nursing Leader with a Strong Business Background & Expert in Lean Six Sigma and Leadership Development
With 25 years of dedication to nursing, clinically in the Emergency Department, and 16 years in the manufacturing sector, I have developed a deep passion for Lean Six Sigma. My expertise covers all aspects of Lean Six Sigma and leadership within healthcare. I embrace both Servant and Transformational leadership styles, finding fulfillment in mentoring teams at every level. Additionally, I focus on cultivating and elevating the brand, understanding that success is rooted in attention to detail. And, most importantly, I believe that some of the greatest lessons come from failure.
With extensive experience in leadership development, I have successfully guided individuals and teams to achieve peak performance. My approach is grounded in practical, results-oriented strategies, incorporating Lean Six Sigma techniques to deliver measurable outcomes. I prioritize ongoing evaluation and adaptability, ensuring that adjustments are made when actions fall short, keeping process improvements at the forefront.
I am a positive, dynamic leader focused on process and quality improvement, as well as developing emerging and supporting current leaders. With a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and board certifications as an APRN Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), Nurse Executive Advanced, and Emergency Nurse, I bring a strong blend of clinical and leadership expertise to healthcare.
My background includes managing a manufacturing company from 2003 to 2019, guiding it through ISO 9001 certifications, and gaining experience in financial management and material handling using the Kanban approach—skills I now apply in healthcare.
As a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, I drive process improvements that enhance patient safety, patient and staff satisfaction, and care outcomes. I have a proven record of improving nursing quality metrics and fostering positive culture change.
Currently, I serve as Vice President of Medical Operations and Quality at Buena Vista Health and Recovery, overseeing four campuses offering a range of services. Previously, I was the Director of Nursing at Barrow Neurological Institute, where I led major improvements in NDNQI metrics across multiple units, including neuro ICUs and surgical services.
